Politicians and CEO's of large corporations have written the book on Weasel words. Weasel words are statements that intend to address a question or an issue but essentially tell you nothing.
They are essentially using the strategy of "If you can convince them confuse them" to appear highly intelligent and educated on a topic but having nothing whatsoever to offer.
Upper Secondary students and teachers should be able to identify Weasel Words and be able to identify a weasel when they hear one. This great collection of weasel words and statements from around the world really gives you an insight into when to listen and when to walk away.
Take a look at it here. A great resource for students you wish to extend in literacy.
